Blink: A silly idea or an interesting service?
On the other day, while working, a sudden word came up to my mind, "blink".
Not actually in the true concept of blinking, but as a fusion of two words, blog and link.
As you probably noticed, I've been dedicating some time to this blog, trying to write interesting stuff, specially in the IT area to make people which are in the area interested. I know I don't have many readers, but they are already some, although I wouldn't mind reaching the masses. Probably that's why I submited my blog to blog directories, such as
Technorati.
But, at least for me,
blog jumping it's a more interesting way of meeting new blogs rather then accessing directories. And that's where
blink enters.
The main idea of blink is providing a free service for a global blog database. Been there, done that… I know...that's what all the blog directories outthere do, but blink isn't only that. Blink would provide an interface to give you a random registered blog.
Every blog in order to be registered in the system would need to have that link, making blog jumping a click distance, Without ever knowing where the next click would take you.
This would increase the visitors of your site and at the same time, it would allow your regular users to also know other interesting blogs. So everybody wins.
It my opnion, and maybe I'm being a bit naive (but I don't think so), such service is pretty easy to implement. The biggest problem would be getting users. So the question remains, is Blink a silly idea I had or an interesting service?
Tell me, would you like to use such service? Would you like to connect to hundreds of blogs in just a blink? Those were not rhetorical questions, I hope that at least one reader says something.
