<s:content>1 Blogging: Two years have passed {anchor:Blogging: Two years have passed}
Two years ago, in the 31st December 2005, I started this blog. It doesn't feel at all that two years have passed. Last year when the blog did one year I presented the blog status regarding the experience, this year I'll be doing the same.

__Status__

Last year when it was announced this blog's first year, I was very satisfied with the results. Looking at this year visitors' report and feedback that has been received through comments and email I can only say that I'm even more enthusiastic.\\
Even though this year I didn't post as often as I did in 2006 the number of visitors and the feedback on each post was much higher.\\
Actually the traffic for this blog has been increasing during this year, as it can be seen in the table below.\\ Anyone interested in numbers can compare the table below, with the one in {link:Blogging: One year has passed|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2006-12-31/1}:

{table}
Month	| Unique visitors	| Number of visits |	Pages	| Hits | Bandwidth
Jan |	953	|1902	|10734	|30180	|273.03 MB
Feb | 	687	|1725	|10719	|21566	|241.27 MB
Mar |   740	|2001	|12944	|31381	|328.15 MB
Apr | 	735	|2087	|12363	|45526	|346.72 MB
May | 	821	|1775	|9131	|24660	|194.02 MB
Jun |	973	|2380	|11507	|31872	|247.20 MB
Jul |	3046	|4880	|17396	|132083	|728.17 MB
Aug |	1736	|3119	|12541	|56045	|423.31 MB
Sep |	1749	|3862	|16430	|61775	|486.17 MB
Oct |	1478	|4495	|13624	|68576	|475.04 MB
Nov |	1667	|4828	|16424	|59579	|467.19 MB
Dec |	1906	|5431	|18879	|62965	|545.45 MB
Total	|16491	|38485	|162692	|626208	|4.64 GB

{table}

This year there are various posts that I think are worth mentioning. From the beginning of the year there's a three post series about __Domain Driven Design__, which sadly I haven't continued yet:

* {link:Software Developing: Domain Driven Design|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-01-14/1}
* {link:Software Developing: More About Domain Driven Design|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-01-19/1}
* {link:Software Developing: Domain Driven Design, looking at Persistence|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-02-28/1}

Another series that has been created is the __Java Programming__ series, which had interesting posts such as:

* {link:Java Programming: First steps with ClassLoaders|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-07-18/1}
* {link:Java Programming: Hot Deploy|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-07-23/1}
* {link:Java Programming: Proxies and References|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-09-26/1}
* {link:Java Programming: Proxies and Access Control|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-10-22/1}
* {link:Java Programming: Getting your code spicy with Groovy|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-12-10/1}

Also worth mentioning is the announcement of a SnipSnap fork, as can been read in {link:SnipSnap Developing: Planning a fork|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-04-07/1} and that a few weeks ago I became part of the ~~new~~ SnipSnap developing team, as mentioned in {link:Software Developing: The SnipSnap Saga|url=http://www.pabrantes.net/blog/space/start/2007-12-17/1}.

Finally, I want to thank all the readers for reading, commenting and emailing me. I blog for the pleasure of writing and sharing my ideas but, without the readers this blog wouldn't be complete.\\
Special thanks go to [jpmsi] and [m4ktub] for all the technical criticism they've been giving in the Java Programming and Domain Driven Design series, and also to [AdaHsu] and [derjohn] for all the feedback and suggestions regarding the SnipSnap developing.

__2008 RoadMap__

In my opinion, during 2007 I managed to improve content quality and the writing itself, for the next year I plan to keep improving both.
As a preview, more articles regarding Java and Domain Driven can be expected and also analysis of other languages that can ran in the JVM, such as Scala and Groovy. Some other topics (and new formats of presenting information) are under study but I won't reveal them yet, otherwise there would be no surprise.

An excellent 2008 for everyone!</s:content>

                        <s:content>It seems I also have to thank you for the shiny graphs :-)

They really look good, and I have to admit that it's easier to visualy read them, instead of the "~~ugly~~" table.

In my opinion there is only one slight problem in the first graphic which is mixing metrics that have different orders of magnitude such as the Number of Visits Versus Bandwith.

Once again, thank you for the graphics! </s:content>
